It is time

It is time to say it outloud:

Boyfriend and I are moving to New York City.

We are going at the end of the month.  I have been avoiding saying it out loud because that makes it real.  And making it real means emotions.  And since I cry at cell phone commercials I don't think I will handle actual emotion every well.

Leaving DC feels like a break-up where nothing is going wrong.  You just know there isn't really a future together.  I love DC.  DC has been wonderful to me, and hopefully I have been wonderful to it.  There's just no spark any more.  DC leaves it's dirty underwear on the floor, and I use the bathroom with the door open.

And in reality, that sounds like a pretty awesome relationship because who has the energy to close the door every time you go to the bathroom. It's just time to go our separate ways.

So, if you are in DC.  Come say "hello, goodbye" tonight at Stetsons on U Street.  I'll be there all night.

We had a very similar relationship with DC for a long, long time. I know first-hand how hard this process is, and so when I say congratulations, it's not just that I'm excited to welcome you guys to NY (though I am), it's that I know what it takes to actually do this. So: CONGRATULATIONS!!! Good luck with the move and everything associated with it, and let us know when you guys are up here!

You should visit Richmond before you move.
